Обязательное ли задавать пароль? :

Первое, что мы проделаем — изменим пароль root: это очевидное требование безопасности.

Если мы нигде не ошиблись мы войдём , а если нет то выйдем...
этот пароль -он будет действовать на ввход в сервер...
А базы для них тоже пароли нужны - или.....
И если переносим базу на другой комп там mysql надо конфигурить с таким же пакролем или???

В файле с расширением x.opt - написано вон чаво - одна латынь....
default-character-set=latin1
default-collation=latin1_swedish_ci

это ведь не покатит?
лучше видимо написать
default-character-set=cp1251
default-collation=cp1251_general_ci

или пофигу?

А нафига тебе локалхост, если ты собираешься работать с WinForms?

И если честно, не понятно, чего ты выбрал MySQL. Для человека, который всю жизнь работал с продуктами мелкомягких и писать клиента ты будешь на .NET- тоже продукт мелкомякгих. Не логичней ли взять MSSQL SERVER? Чем вызвано желание работать с MySQL?
